Lunch events will provide an opportunity for students to gather information and network with ‘role models’ from academia, industry and business. Together with internal and external partners, EPFL shall hold a dozen lunch events each year.

For the first time in 2019, Medtronic is inviting female students to their premises in Morges. They will have the opportunity to meet some of their female engineers but also have a tour of the of implantable device manufacturing area.

Participants got a deepened insight and understanding of careers they can expect at a company like Cisco. The events provided extensive and much appreciated opportunities to discuss with employees in various functions and of various seniority. In addition, participants benefitted from a presentation on diversity and unconscious bias, as well as a session with a presentation by Cisco’s lead HR expert in Switzerland on recruiting, and mock interviews.

Startups Lunch events
Veronica Savu, CEO and co-founder of Morphotonix has presented to female PhD students and Postdoc her professional career. She shared with participants her motivation and experience in setting up and leading a Start Up.
Two young Start Up leaders, Deborah Heintze of Lunaphore Technologies and Esmeralda Megally from Xsensio shared with participants their motivation and experience in setting up and leading a Start Up.
