BIOGRAPHIES

Marianne Baumgartner was born in Bern in 1984. Following her architectural studies at ETHZ, she worked at 2b architects, as well as at Josep Lluis Mateo’s chair at ETHZ as a scientific collaborator. Together with her partner Luca Camponovo, she founded the Zurich office camponovo baumgartner in 2014, which focuses on transformations and new buildings as well as urban planning. She is also a regular jury member for architecture competitions and prizes, as well as a guest expert and lecturer at various universities. Marianne Baumgartner is also a member of the Stuttgart City Planning Advisory Committee and a visiting professor at EPFL.

Luca Camponovo was born in Bern in 1980. He studied architecture at EPFL and at ETH, before moving to Tokyo to study the historic urban structures of Roji. He then worked in various architectural offices in Zurich. In 2014, together with his partner Marianne Baumgartner, he founded the office camponovo baumgartner, in Zürich. In 2019, he was admitted to the Federation of Swiss Architects, where he has been a member of the central committee as quaestor since 2021. Luca Camponovo is also active on the specialist committees for building and outdoor design in Herzogenbuchsee and Thun, where he has been involved in urban landscape issues since 2020 and 2017 respectively. He is currently a visiting professor at EPFL.

Doorzon interior architects was founded by Stefanie Everaert and Caroline Lateur. The office works on both private and public projects, in Belgium and internationally. At its foundation, doorzon is interested in the role that interior architecture can play in a broader social context. They approach projects from different angles and with an open mind, which often leads to unexpected, inventive interventions. Collaboration plays an important role in their cross-disciplinary practice. In 2016, for example, they took part in the Venice Biennale with architects de vylder vinck taillieu and photographer/artist Filip Dujardin. Everaert and Lateur also work as lecturers for KU Leuven (Faculty of Architecture, Sint-Lucas Ghent Campus).

Thibaut Pierron studied architecture and urbanism at TU Berlin and ENSA Lyon where he graduated in 2012. He collaborated with LIN Finn Geipel Giulia Andi in Berlin in 2013, Johnston Marklee in Los Angeles in 2014 and Bureau A in Geneva in 2015. Between 2011 and 2022 he has been lecturer at EAVT Paris-Est and ENSA Lyon, researcher at EPF Lausanne, as well as guest critic at Dessau Institute of Architecture and TU Berlin. Since 2021, he holds a PhD in Architecture with a thesis supervised by Kersten Geers at EPF Lausanne. In 2022, he joined as scientist the laboratory TEXAS directed by Éric Lapierre. In 2018, he founded with Vanessa Pointet the architecture practice Sub with projects in Paris and in the Alps. Sub investigates the specificity of architecture within a world of artefacts and its ability to perform in contact with the environment.
