Curating Postmodernism
In this lecture Glenn Adamson, co-curator of the major exhibition Postmodernism: Style and Subversion, 1970 to 1990 currently on view at the V&A in London, tells the story of the project. Dr. Adamson will discuss acquisitions made for the show, as well as research breakthroughs. He will also speak about engaging postmodernism on the level of discrete objects, rather than generalized theory. Through narratives of production (and reproduction) it is possible to outline a more specific history of these decades in design and architecture, one which relates to but also challenges received ideas about this controversial movement.
