BIOGRAPHIES 

Sophie Dars is an architect based in Brussels. Since 2013, She has been collaborating with Carlo Menon on a practice situated between theoretical research, publishing, pedagogy and project making. They are co-founders of the journal Accattone with Ismaël Bennani and Orfée Grandhomme. They teach design at the Faculty of Architecture La Cambre Horta (ULB Brussels) and representation in the master Civic Design at the Peter Behrens School of Arts (HSD Düsseldorf). Sophie Dars graduated from ENSA Paris-Malaquais (DPLG, 2007). After several years of practice within the V+ office, she regularly takes part in projects built in association with architects and artists such as Central ofaau, Depeyre Morand, Piovenefabi, Pierre Leguillon and Simon Boudvin.

Sébastien Martinez-Barat, who graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture Paris-Malaquais, is co-founder of the architectural group La Ville Rayée. He is architect-curator of the Belgian Pavilion at the 14th Venice Architecture Biennale in 2014. S. Martinez Barat approaches architecture as a broad disciplinary field, ranging from curating to construction. His theoretical research and projects focus on the reduction of architectural forms and the notion of “beyond”. With Karin Schlageter he publishes the cultural studies journal POLI – politique de l’image.
