Urban Bricolage (1)

Reuse: from teaching to practice

Monday 24 October 2022, 18h30
Archizoom, Place Ada Lovelace, EPFL

Round table on the occasion of the exhibition Ultimate Matter.

The theme of material reuse has recently emerged in architecture schools and has gained momentum in a short period of time. Curricula and research programmes continue to adapt to this new paradigm.

In order to understand how to teach and develop research on reuse, it is important to know about pioneering experiences in the profession, as well as student initiatives that are looking for new innovative building processes.

The discussion will address issues such as continuing education, the need to move away from bricolage aesthetics to see reuse develop on a larger scale, the development of new standards adapted to reuse, etc.
