How and where should we channel our research to help reduce the disastrous amount of polluted waste arising from construction? This discussion aims to explore the needs for a new approach to materials: what would be a material that does not produce waste or CO2 emissions?
Three lines of research will be addressed: The database (how to implement an efficient circular economy), the sourcing (which ‘clean’ materials should be produced and used), and the existing stock (buildings are not waste).
