Rolex Learning Center
Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd of November
from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
For two days, a mini cinema room will be setup close to the Klee cafeteria at the Rolex Learning Center.
This setup is the result of a collaboration between CineGlobe and HEAD school in Geneva. In order to promote the Festival Tous Ecrans, it will embark on a nationwide tour of Switzerland’s most iconic towns and cities between October 13th and November 14th.
Films screened:
- Swiss web series (in collaboration with SRG SSR)
- International web series
- Video-clips
- Choreographic short films: CHOREOGRAPHIC CAPTURES (in collaboration with the « Fête de la Danse & Joint Adventures »)
- Short Films for children (in collaboration with “La Lanterne Magique”)
During one month, the Minima Cinema will be the ambassador for the Geneva International Film Festival Tous Ecrans. The Festival has developed portable and mobile projection rooms thanks a precious collaboration with students and staff of the Master of space & Communication at the HEAD school in Geneva and CineGlobe. The mini projection room will reach out to those who cannot attend the Festival. It will travel to Bern’s old bear park, the foot of the Matterhorn in Zermatt, the Freitag tower in Zürich and will also visit Neuchâtel, Locarno, Lausanne and Fribourg.
The minima cinemas, objects of curiosity, will be deployed consecutively in the heart of a dozen cities (full list available below) and even in unexpected locations. In a way, this serves as a reminder that the Festival promotes a culture dedicated to the masses, the moviegoers and the curious. It is also a way to pay tribute to the origins of cinematography with its mobile cinema rooms and rolled up screens that were unrolled daily in a new town in front of the amazed eyes of the first witnesses of the Lumière Brothers’ invention.
