DO-ENGINEERING PROGRAMME

Internship information:

This position will support several projects related to engineering activities under su-re.co Do-Engineering tank, particularly developing portable biogas digesters.

In 2021, we started a project funded by IKI Small Grants under Germany’s Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and GIZ. The project’s objective is to support farmers in adapting to climate change by giving them access to our biogas digesters as clean energy and climate-smart agriculture practices.

Planned activities :

  • Install more digesters equipped with a carbon offset scheme and climate information across Bali and Flores Island Indonesia.
  • Exercise communication and management skills to solve energy-related issues in poor and emerging economy contexts like Indonesia.

Requirements:

  • You are studying or have graduated with an Engineering or Natural Science background
  • Good level of English;
  • Ease of adaptation: the ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Description of the organization:

su-re.co is an environmental think-do-be tank based in Bali, Indonesia. As a ThinkTank with a scientific background and strategic planning, su-re.co has undertaken research and consulting projects related to energy, land use, biogas, and livelihoods associated with climate change issues with international agencies, including ADB, JICA, IRENA, GIZ, UNDP, UNIDO, SEI, CIFOR, AGEPS, UNOPS, etc. As a Do-Tank, su-re.co also develops business at grand by selling climate-smart products (i.e. su-re.coffee, su-re.cocoa, canary, vanilla) from local farmers in Bali and Bajawa – with a portion of the revenue given back to farmers in the form of free Biogas digester and Climate Field School for farmers. Thus, as a Be-Tank, Su-re.co generates insight to help the public and private sectors work hand-in-hand on tackling climate change through high-level discussion and sustainability training for all levels of participants (i.e., primary and college students, local and international organizations, and government).
