The MA2 class had the opportunity to go for a class trip to Zurich where they got a tour of the city relating to finance in the city. They learned about the early days of Zurich and its guilds, all the way to the modern development of Zurich as a financial hub thanks to Alfred Escher and many more after him.
The trip included a visit to the Vontobel offices in Zurich. Was warmly welcomed by the staff and introduced to what possibilities await them at Vontobel and what their next career steps could look like.
The day ended with the students being able to wander around Zurich for a bit, before catching the train back to Lausanne.
Trips like this one stand at the core of FES’ vision for its students. Networking opportunities with companies give the students insights into what they could be doing during their mandatory internship and future career. This helps them explore what they want to pursue in the vast world of finance. Additionally, it gives them a hook to companies for when they start applying for internships and jobs.
