Do you want to contribute to society? EPFL is home to many initiatives and services that may be of interest to you. Everyone can get involved. Members of the scientific community, students, administrative and technical staff—there’s no shortage of opportunities.
How to get involved at EPFL?
- Join student associations
- Represent you fellow students at various levels: contact the EPFL Assembly, your School and section or your doctoral school
- Help your peers (mentoring, coaching, etc.)
- Support internal events (offers are on the Myjob.epfl.ch platform)
- Be part of student medias: ALTER, Superboom, Superzoom, Fréquence Banane
- Join a MAKE project
- Support sustainability and inclusivity
- Support open science
- Develop and fund scientific projects with public impact
- Develop outreach activities with the Science Outreach Department

How to get involved outside EPFL?
Whether you want to help people in need, contribute to the sports community or get involved in a cause, benevol-jobs.ch will help you find opportunities to get involved as a volunteer.
Need support to set up an associative project? The Fondation compétences bénévoles (in French) can help.
Switzerland’s political system is highly dependent on people’s involvement.
- Beneficiaries of a residence permit (B, L, S) can get involved in political parties and authorized demonstrations.
