Nurse consultations
Primary care consultation
In case of health problems, students or doctoral students can make an appointment at the Point Santé. The nursing team performs a clinical assessement and proposes an appropriate treatment which may include a referral to an external health professionnal.
Emergency contraception
The morning-after pill can be given by nurses up to 72 hours after unprotected sex to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. There is a charge for the medication.
Routine immunizations
The nursing team provides basic immunization updates. The cost of the vaccinations is billed with the exception of the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccination and the HPV vaccination under certain conditions. Remember to bring your vaccination record to your appointment.
STD screenings
The nursing team is available to advise and carry out the tests indicated for each situation (HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis B and C). There is a charge of between 10 and 30 CHF depending on the test. As a general rule, tests are performed no earlier than 3 months after the last risky contact. Exceptions : if you have had unprotected sex in the last 48 hours, ask for medical advice without delay or go directly to the CHUV emergency room.
Healthcare
The nursing team can provide care such as dressings, wound care, removal of stitches, injections, etc. If you have a medical prescription, please bring it to the consultation.
Individual support
Students and doctoral students facing difficulties can obtain support and advice from the nurses of the Point Santé or an emergency basis and by appointment. It is also possible to contact the psychotherapeutic consultation on campus ([email protected]).
