Machine-related hazards

Milling machine

Each machine must have a user manual, and operators must be trained in its use and made aware of the hazards specific to each machine.

All machines marketed in Switzerland must meet the requirements of European standard 2006/42/EC, transposed into Swiss law in the Ordinance of April 2, 2008 on the safety of machinery (OMach; RS 819.14). These legal texts are supplemented by CFST 6512 on work equipment and by SUVA recommendations.

To help you with the purchase, use and maintenance of your machines, EPFL has prepared various documents which you will find on our website to ensure the safety of users.
