Multi-factor authentication

The rollout of Entra ID will introduce multi-factor authentication (MFA) across our IT services and infrastructure. The Gaspar MFA system will remain operational until the migration to Entra ID is complete.

When you first log in to an application that has been migrated to Entra ID, you will be asked to register a new QR code to scan preferably with the Microsoft Authenticator application. We’ve made some video tutorial showing you how to onboard yourself on Entra ID with both Microsoft and Google Authenticator:

I want to register via my computer and Google Authenticator

I want to register via my computer and Microsoft Authenticator
I want to register entirely via my smartphone with Microsoft Authenticator

You will only need to complete this procedure once, unless you switch to a different smartphone.

Note: Because Entra ID is a Microsoft service, users of the Microsoft Authenticator app will have a simplified login process. You can use the app’s push function, not available for VPN, to validate your second factor by typing the number displayed in the authentication window (see example windows). That means you won’t have to enter a 6-digit code, as required for other authentication apps.

We recommend Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator. The App Store (iOS) and Play Store (Android) are likely to offer you other applications, which may include paying packages.

You’ll find below an example of a validation request window for the second Entra ID factor.
