Most of the time, Poseidon does not take care of the installation for professional softwares. For EPFL students only, you now have Distrilog (https://distrilog-etudiants.epfl.ch) and the following services:
Software provided with VDI
We can assist you with installing the VMware Horizon client to access EPFL’s desktop virtualization service. You can find more information to get started with VDI here.

Matlab

This edition ( MATLAB & Simulink Standard Version ) is available for Linux (64bits), Mac OSX (64bits) and Windows (32 and 64bits) operating systems and comes with more than 50 toolboxes.
Users at EPFL may benefit from MathWorks Technical Support. Information on how to contact the Technical Support team and how to submit a request can be found on MathWorks website www.mathworks.ch/support/contact_us/index
Prior to contacting MathWorks Technical Support, we kindly ask you to retrieve your MATLAB version and license number by typing the MATLAB command “ver”.

You can find the latest changelog (what’s new) on the mathworks website.
You have to renew your MATLAB license every year in January by following the steps from this knowledge article.
