Email redirection at the mailbox level has not been allowed at EPFL since 2023. Existing redirections have not been migrated to Exchange Online. If a user sets up email forwarding, they do so at their own risk and assume full responsibility. No technical support will be provided for this issue.
- Mail is not a chat/instant messaging tool :
- Microsoft Teams is a standard tool supported by the IT department.
- Jabber is a tool supported by DSI (please refer to uc.epfl.ch)
- Mail is not an EDM:
- Encourage sharing documents via links (from OneDrive and/or Microsoft Teams).
- Should not be used to store documents.
- Does not allow for document classification and versioning.
- The search function in Exchange does not allow for searching within attachments.

- Invitations in shared calendars should not be used to announce events, such as conferences. This pollutes the calendars of people who do not wish to attend. The EPFL Memento can be used to announce such events. For more information: https://help-memento.epfl.ch
- When you want to send a message to a large number of recipients, it is recommended that you use an existing mailing list or create a new one.
