In accordance with the EPFL directive on travel and reimbursement of professional expenses (LEX 5.6.2), all regular staff hired at a rate of 50% or more, for a minimum period of 12 months, benefit from offers on SBB passes.

With the Half Fare Travelcard, you can travel at half price on all CFF routes, most other railways, as well as boats and postbuses.
You will also receive discounts on bus and metro tickets in many Swiss cities.
This Travelcard is valid for one year, but bound by an open-ended contract. It is automatically renewed upon expiry and loaded onto the SWISSPASS mobility card (more information on the SWISSPASS card: www.sbb.ch or www.swisspass.ch).
You need a SwissPass mobility card to obtain the half-fare travelcard offered by EPFL.
Please go to the nearest public transport sales point (SBB stations, TL sales point at EPFL) and order the SwissPass card, free of charge using a passport photo and proof of identity.
Then apply for the Half-Fare travelcard, giving your SBB customer number (e.g. 012-345-678-9), date of birth and postcode by email to [email protected].
A Half-Fare travelcard will be automatically loaded onto your SwissPass card.

Once we have loaded the free Half-Fare travelcard onto your SwissPass card, you can check its validity on your SwissPass.ch account.
Unused days can be refunded on request at the nearest public transport sales point (SBB stations, TL sales point at EPFL) or by calling SBB Private Customer Service on 0848 44 66 88.

The subscription is automatically renewed for the duration of the employment contract.
The subscription remains valid until it expires, but automatic renewal is deactivated when you leave EPFL.
The SwissPass mobility card remains associated with its holder and must be kept by the employee.
