EPFL Table

Information

The main difference between the EPFL Table block and the EPFL Table Filter block is the fact that the latter can be sorted and/or filtered.

 Add a table

  • Add an EPFL Table block.
  • Column count : Specify the number of columns
  • Row count : Specify the number of lines
    Note: Table headers and/or footers can be added in the table properties (see below)
  • Click on Create

Add a header and/or footer

  1. Click in the table
  2. In the right column, make sure the Block tab is active, if not, click on it.
  3. In the Table settings section, activate
    • Header section to add a header
    • Footer section to add a footer
    Note: If you leave a header or footer blank, the texts Header label and Footer label do not appear online

Add text

  • Click in a cell and type in (or paste) text
  • To format text, you can use the tools available in the toolbar

Add an image

  • Click in a cell and then click on in the toolbar. In the drop-down menu, select Inline Image

Warning : The size of the images is not constrained by the size of the table. When inserting an image, make sure that the chosen size allows the other parts of the table to be displayed correctly on the page.

Similarly, images are not responsive, in other words they will not adapt to different display modes (tablets, smartphones).

  • The maximum size of the center column is 570 pixels when the Large display option is disabled.
  • The maximum size of the center column is 1108 pixels when the Large display option is enabled.

Add lines or columns

To add a line

Note : You can add a line above or under the active one

  • Click in a line to activate it
  • Click on then the drop-down menu, select Add Row Before to add a line above the active one or choose ou Add Row After to add a line below the active one.

To add a column

Note : You can add a column to the left or to the right of the active one.

  • Click in a column to activate it
  • Click on then the drop-down menu, select Add Column Before to add a column to the left or Add Column After to add a column to the right of the active column.

Table Properties

It is possible to change the width of the table as well as to alternate the color of the lines to obtain a better readability of the table.

Color alternance for lines

  • Click on and choose Stripes.

Table width

  • Click in the empty area between the block tools and the table you created.
  • In the right column, make sure that the Block tab is active, if not, click on it.
  • By default, the table uses the same column width as the content. To make the table wider, enable the Large Display option.

Distribution of columns

  • By default, the width of a column is optimized in relation to its content. To obtain columns of equal width, proceed as follows :
  • Click anywhere in the table
  • In the right column, make sure that the Block tab is active, if not, click on it.
  • Enable the Fixed width table cells option
