Add a table
- Add an EPFL Table filter block.
- Column count : Specify the number of columns
- Row count : Specify the number of lines
- Click on Create
Add text
- Click in a cell and type in (or paste) text
- To format text, you can use the tools available in the toolbar
Add an image
Warning : The size of the images is not constrained by the size of the table. When inserting an image, make sure that the chosen size allows the other parts of the table to be displayed correctly on the page.
- Click in a cell and then click on in the toolbar. In the drop-down menu, select Inline Image
Add lines or columns
- To add a line
Note : You can add a line above or under the active one- Click in a line to activate it
- Click on then the drop-down menu, select Add Row Before to add a line above the active one or choose ou Add Row After to add a line below the active one.
- To add a column
Note : You can add a column to the left or to the right of the active one.- Click in a column to activate it
- Click on then the drop-down menu, select Add Column Before to add a column to the left or Add Column After to add a column to the right of the active column.
Table properties
This block has a search tool, it is also possible to sort by column, change the width of the table and alternate the color of the lines to make the table easier to read.
- Search tool
- Click in the empty area between the block tools and the table you created.
- In the right column, make sure that the Block tab is active, if not, click on it.
- In the Placeholder field, type the text that indicates that it is a search field (Search in the table for example)
- Header and sort
- In the right column, make sure that the Block tab is active, if not, click on it.
- If your table features a header line, you can highlight it by choosing Header from the drop-down menu
- To allow sorting, choose Header & sort
- Color alternance for lines
- Click on and choose Stripes.
Table Layout
It is possible to set the width of the table as well as the layout of the table
- Table width
- Click in the empty area between the block tools and the table you created.
- In the right column, make sure that the Block tab is active, if not, click on it.
- By default, the table uses the same column width as the content. To make the table wider, enable the Large Display option.
- Distribution of columns
- By default, the width of a column is optimized in relation to its content. To obtain columns of equal width, proceed as follows :
- Click anywhere in the table
- In the right column, make sure that the Block tab is active, if not, click on it.
- Enable the Fixed width table cells option
