Here is a tour of the web interface as you can see it on social.epfl.ch:
From the left sidebar:

- The main EPFL timeline where you can see posts from the people you follow.
- This section allows you to easily view your posts and those shared by your network.
- Notifications
- All your notifications, such as boosts (shares), mentions, or new followers.
- Explore
- A section to discover public content: trends, popular hashtags, or accounts to follow.
- Live Feed
- A real-time view of posts.
- Private Mention
- Access your direct messages and private conversations.
- Bookmarks
- Find your favorite posts for later reference.
- Favorites
- A collection of posts you have liked.
- Preferences
- Access your account settings, including privacy, notifications, and customization options.
- Lists
- Organize the people you follow into custom groups for a more tailored experience.
In the center: shared content
- The user’s name and their original instance.
- The content of the post, including images, links, or other attachments.
- Options to reply, boost (share), add to favorites, and save to bookmarks.
Composing a post
- On the right side of the interface, you will find a writing area to publish a message (also called a “toot” or “pouet”).
- You can add attachments, restrict the visibility of your post (public, unlisted, private, or direct), and choose the language of your post.
- Each message is limited to 500 characters.
If you share an image, always use the “Alt” button to describe it precisely. This practice allows visually impaired users or those using screen readers to understand the content of the published illustrations.
