Information
It is possible to link files to a web page. However, be careful not to consider your site as a file server. If you have documents that should be made available outside of any web context, use Google Drive or Switch Drive instead.
The WordPress media library allows you to manage all files associated with pages or posts. It can be accessed from the side menu or, depending on the operations, when editing content.
For reasons mainly related to security, WordPress does not allow you to upload a certain type of files. The supported files are as follows:
- Images: .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, .ico
- Documents: .pdf, .doc, .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .pps, .pps, .ppsx, .odt, .xls, .xlsx, .psd
- Audio: .mp3, .mp4, .0gg, .wav
- Video: .mp4, .m4v, .mov, .wmv, .avi, .mpg, .ogv, .3gp, .3g2
Adding a file to the Media library
You can add files in two ways :
- Directly in the Media library (see below)
- While editing a page or a post

The uploaded files appear at the root level (1st level) of the library. You can then move these files to a folder if you wish
