Coming to EPFL
Every year, students from all over the world join EPFL as part of a university exchange semester or year, for their Master’s thesis or other lab projects, or in the context of a double diploma or a joint degree.
On its lively campus situated in full view of the Alps on the shores of Lake Geneva, EPFL offers you an astonishing place to study, socialize and stimulate creativity. Lausanne is a small town with plenty to offer to culture buffs, gourmets, night owls or daydreamers. It is also a perfect base camp for weekend excursions to attractions in Switzerland or to European capitals.

We followed six exchange students from the USA, UK, Singapore, Australia and The Netherlands during their stay at EPFL, who tell us about their experience in their video testimonials.
A university exchange offers the benefit of international experience without interrupting your studies, as the credits obtained at EPFL are recognized by its partner universities.
You may join EPFL to complete your Master’s thesis or another project in a laboratory under the supervision of an EPFL professor.
EPFL offers students with outstanding records the opportunity to follow a double degree or joint degree program. Coming to EPFL guarantees continuation of your studies at a prestigious institution and offers you complementary education.
Since 2013, the Excellence Research Internship Program has provided the opportunity to a handful of brilliant students from a selected group of institutions to experience 3-month internships in EPFL laboratories.
