The aim of this project is to analyze the feedback from users of the PubliRide carpooling system and PubliCar on-demand transport and to understand the possible success factors of a carsharing service in the Valais context.
The PubliRide project started in June 2015 and aims to promote carsharing by making available to residents of the canton of Valais a computer platform facilitating the contact between potential users, drivers and passengers. PubliCar is a PostBus offer operated in certain cantons to provide on-demand public transport services, depending on the population density.
The aim of this project is twofold: to analyze the feedback of PubliRide and PubliCar users and to formulate recommendations for the development of new carsharing solutions in the broadest sense in low density areas such as those in Valais.
This 3-month project is led by EPFL’s Urban Sociology Laboratory in collaboration with the HES-SO Valais-Wallis. It is funded by PostBus, the City of Sion and the canton of Valais.
