Student competitions, at national or international level, are golden opportunities for students to prepare for their professional future. In the field of transport and mobility, several challenges have already attracted interdisciplinary teams from EPFL. They have regularly distinguished themselves by the quality of their work and organization, winning places on the podium.
In 2021, the EPFL Rocket Team was crowned champion at the European Rocketry Challenge (EuRoC) in Ponte de Sor, Portugal. The Swiss Solar Boat Team won the eco-conception prize and ended second in Solar Class.
In 2019, EPFLoop participated for the second time in the Hyperloop Pod Competition, which will took place in July in Los Angeles, in California. They took the third place.
The students also shone brightly in the HydroContest competitions. The competition took place in September 2019 at Yverdon. The team took first place with its lightweight boat, second place in endurance, and third place in speed with its heavyweight boat.
In 2022, EPFL teams will be competing in several international challenges related to transportation and mobility:

- SP80 to break the World sailing speed record
