Short Bio
Andrej Bicanski has an MSc in Physics from the University of Heidelberg, Germany (2007). He carried out his master thesis in the Computational Neuroscience Group at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain, modeling the formation of place cells from an underlying grid cell population. After a research period at the Max-Planck Institute for Astronomy, Heidelberg, he joined BIOROB as a research assistant in February 2009 to work on the SystemsX project, dealing with spinal central pattern generators and vertebrate locomotion.
While hosted by the Institute of Bioengineering at the School of Engineering, Andrej Bicanski is associated to the EPFL PhD Program in Neuroscience (EDNE) of the Brain Mind Institute (School of Life Sciences)
