Building Energy Efficiency Project (BEEP) is a bilateral cooperation project between the Ministry of Power, Government of India, and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) of the Swiss Confederation. Started in 2011, the project’s central focus is to help India mainstream energy-efficient and thermally comfortable (EETC) building design for both commercial and residential buildings.
The 2018 BEEP project enabled the launch of the “Energy Conservation Building Code for Residential Buildings”, which is the first standard in India to regulate the energy consumption of buildings.
The Building2050 group was there, represented by Thomas Jusselme, who supervised students projects and gave two talks about:
- climate responsive architecture and integrated design,
- European trends in building energy efficiency.
