The Macroeconomics of Financial Crises
Sinergia project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation
Sinergia is a competitive program open to all disciplines. It provides funding to collaborative research projects in promising new areas and involving at least three research groups.
The main goal of this 3-year-project is to understand the macroeconomic dimension of the recent financial crisis and to introduce financial realities into macroeconomic models. It entails research on the macroeconomic implications of mortgage lending and default, the macroeconomic impact of market liquidity, the implications for international capital flows and the international financial system.
