Laboratory of Catchment Hydrology and Geomorphology
Drainage basins are integrators of a wide array of biotic and abiotic processes acting over various spatio-temporal scales. As such, they provide a number of key ecosystem services that are paramount for human wellbeing.
At the Laboratory of Catchment Hydrology and Geomorphology (CHANGE), we seek to improve current understanding and forecasting capabilities of catchment dynamics both in natural and managed ecosystems. To this purpose, we develop mathematical models for the quantitative description of ecohydrological and geomorphological processes and combine them with advanced data analysis. In our work, we integrate methods and approaches from geomorphology, hydrology, climate, ecology, soil physics, and economy to develop holistic frameworks for the stewardship of sustainable ecosystems.
