Clément Hongler studied mathematics at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) where he got his M.Sc. in Mathematics in 2008.
He then obtained his Ph.D. in 2010 at the University of Geneva under the supervision of Stanislav Smirnov and went on to Columbia University to work as a Ritt Assistant Professor from September 2010 to July 2014.
Since July 2014, he leads the Chair of Statistical Field Theory (CSFT) at EPFL.
His current research focuses on lattice models and their connections with quantum field theories, learning theory, and decentralized systems.
