STUDIO ASSISTANT AT 40%

The Domestic City laboratory (DC-lab) is recruiting a 40% Studio Assistant (2 days/week: monday, tuesday) from November 2024, on the Lausanne EPFL campus. 

Main tasks:

  • To coordinate Prof. Sophie Delhay’s Bachelor’s/Master’s studio, alongside another assistant
  • To take part in table critiques with the students
  • To take part in lecture critiques
  • To write documents and carry out bibliographical research (reader, booklet, end-of-semester publication)
  • To organise conferences as part of the studio
  • To organise a 1:1 construction workshop

Secondary tasks:

  • To take part in various research activities within the laboratory
  • To write articles

Immediate tasks (November 24 to February 25):

  • In the immediate future, to prepare for the Spring 2025 semester entitled ‘The city as a house’. The aim of the semester will be to design a dining room for 1,000 people in the hall of the EPFL’s SG building. Our aim is to improve the quality of life of students by offering them a flexible and adaptable living space.
  • In the autumn, the assistant will have to contact the various EPFL authorities to identify any obstacles to the project (fire regulations, security, etc.). On 17 February 2025, the project will begin with the students.
  • The assistant will also take part in table discussions in the autumn 24 semester (accompanied by 2 other assistants from the teaching team) in order to familiarise with the themes of our laboratory, the DC-lab.

Position starting from 1 November 2024, to prepare for the spring semester 2025 (which starts on 17/02/25).

This is a CDD contract from 01/11/24 to 31/08/25, renewable from year to year.
