We strongly support and encourage the open science initiatives below.
- PyMoDAQ
Our laboratory is a proud user and contributor of PyMoDAQ. PyMoDAQ stands for “Modular Data Acquisition with Python”. This framework performs the task of systematic experiment control and data acquisition with the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable & Reusable) principles integrated by design. It is open-source, well documented and community based. We have successfully implemented this framework in our laboratory, contributed to it by writing new instrument plugins, and use it on a daily basis for data acquisition and monitoring.
- EquipSent
Education and research in low-income countries is severly hindered by lack of funding for scientific equipment – while in high-income countries, such devices are being discarded when they come of age and are still functional. EquipSent, founded by Gregor Jotzu in 2017, seeks to bridge these two dilemmas.
