Parallel NEC is an implementation of the NEC2 code, developed by the EMC Group of the Power Systems Laboratory at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.
It is capable of running on a distributed memory parallel computer. It is based on MPI and uses SCALAPACK routines, both available for free.
This is a Beta version. It has been tested with input files consisting of 23.000 segments running on 32 and 64 processors on the Eridan and Swiss-T1 parallel computers belonging to the Service Informatique Central at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.
This code is being developed in the frame of the GEMCAR project.
