The Embedded Systems Laboratory is looking for an Android developer to contribute to the development of a Wear OS application (smartwatch) for the monitoring of people with epilepsy.
This project is part of a collaboration with the neurology department of the Centre hospitalier universitaire Vaudois (CHUV). It aims at collecting physiological data (activity, heart rate) of people with epilepsy in their everyday life using a Wear OS based smartwatch. The watch runs an application which records physiological data before sending it to a secure cloud.
The research assistant will be responsible for improving and adding new features to an existing version of the application.
We are looking for an EPFL student with experience in Android development. The research assistant should have demonstrated prior experience in Android development. In particular they should have experience with Java and Kotlin, and be familiar with the following APIs:
- Data and file storage
- Bluetooth (or BLE) communication
- Threads and Services
- HTTP requests
