At the heart of a battery, fuel cell or electrolyser are the electrochemical reactions taking place at the interfaces between the outer porous catalysts (air side and fuel side) and the intercalated dense ion-conducting membrane. In addition to the nature of the catalysts and middle membrane themselves, the interface quality (adhesion) and 3D-microstructure of the electrodes, as well as their evolution in time (grain growth, delamination, porosity, fissuring) are of paramount importance for long device life.
We carry out detailed electrochemical testing and characterization including
- Impedance spectroscopy
- Electrochemical modeling
- Microstructural modeling (3D quantification)
- Electron microscopy analysis
- Chemical analysis
