Gönczy Lab – Cell and Developmental Biology
We are interested in understanding fundamental cellular processes, including in the context of development. We work principally with C. elegans and human cells, but also other systems when appropriate. Our main focus is on the mechanisms governing asymmetric division and centriole assembly. To address these and related biological questions, we utilize a combination of complementary approaches, including functional genomics, biophysical analysis, cell biology, live imaging, as well as super resolution microscopy and cryo-electron tomography.
