The final session will analyse the reactivation of ‘prehistory’ in the post-war years. At that time, prehistory —its longue durée, its monuments, its shelters and its opaque symbolic language—offered the potential to think the nuclear and post-nuclear world. Philosophy, the human and social sciences, and art will be closely intertwined, revealing the transcendental functions of prehistory and its constant historicisation in specific material contexts.
