The Idea of Origin

How do we begin to think about the history of architecture? Is there a zero year or an absolute beginning? Can we even imagine ourselves without architecture? This class will present architecture’s most enduring myths of origin and lay the groundwork for thinking about new alternative narratives that will help us rethink architecture’s relationship to our current social, environmental and political urgencies.
