A Question of Scale: From Home to Temple at Teotihuacan
Among the archeological sites in ancient Mesoamerica, Teotihuacan stands as an outlier for its dramatically planned nature. Teotihuacan’s residents lived in multi-family structures whose materials and decorative finishes projected the wealth of its residents. These residential structures do have markers of differing social statuses and identities, but the underlying similarities promoted social cohesion.
