Angkor Wat: Architecture and the Politics of Water
This class explores how architectural myths of origin actively shape contemporary politics. Focusing on the irrigation systems of Angkor Wat – studied under French colonial rule and later instrumentalized by the modern Cambodian state this class examines how archeological knowledge has been repurposed to serve evolving state agendas in water management and development.
