sTAP: Traffic assignment for service-based urban mobility
The emerging mobility services (e.g., ride-sourcing, ride-sharing, etc.) are reshaping travel behaviors and have shown profound impacts on urban traffic. This project aims to develop the modeling and analysis framework in vision of a service-based urban transportation system, where most private vehicles are replaced by mobility service vehicles belonging to and operated by a few operators. We will extend the classic traffic assignment model to tackle the distinct routing behaviors of mobility service vehicles and the complex interactions between different stakeholders (e.g., travelers, vehicles, operators, regulator) in the system.
