IBOIS works in collaboration with the National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) Digital Fabrication.
The NCCR Digital Fabrication, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), aims to develop and integrate digital technologies in architecture and construction. Initiated in 2014 at ETH Zürich, it now collaborates with EPFL, Empa and the Bern University of Applied Sciences. Their research on digital fabrication extends to the fields of architecture, structural design, materials science, computer science, control systems engineering and robotics.
For further information, please read the NCCR dfab brochure.
Within the NCCR Digital Fabrication, IBOIS collaborates with the EPFL Computer Graphics and Geometry Laboratory (LGG), which undertakes research on efficient representations and algorithms for digital 3D models. It aims to understand the principles of geometric computing and modeling, and to develop new algorithms and tools for efficient 3D model representation, shape analysis, simulation, design, and interaction.
PhD and Postdoc positions within the NCCR Digital Fabrication are available. For more information, visit the page Opportunities of the website.
