Enhancing Thermal Comfort Assessment through Multicultural Integration of Human Psychology: Optimizing of the POMS Questionnaire

Are you curious about how mood and psychology affect our thermal comfort perception? Join our exciting study and contribute to groundbreaking research that combines environmental, physiological, and psychological factors to develop advanced thermal comfort models.

  • WHAT is the study about?

This research explores the role of mood and psychology in shaping our thermal comfort. By participating, you’ll help expand our understanding of how these factors interact with cultural and climatic variations. This study will build upon existing research conducted in Türkiye and extend the findings with data collected in Switzerland.

  • WHY should YOU participate?
    • By joining, you’ll contribute to advancing science and enhancing building energy performance through improved thermal comfort models.
    • As a token of our appreciation, you’ll receive 10 CHF in cash for your time.
  • If you meet the following criteria, we will invite you to participate in the experimental sessions on the EPFL campuses (Lausanne and Fribourg).

    • Eligibility criteria to enroll in the study:
      • Aged 18–65 years
      • Lived in a central European climate for at least 3 months
      • Caucasian demographic
      • No use of antidepressants in the last 3 months
      • Can avoid caffeine, alcohol, smoking, and intense physical activity 12 hours before experiments
      • Upper-intermediate level of English (study conducted in English)

Participation is voluntary, and the personal data will be kept confidential. This research project has been approved by the EPFL Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC000553).
