The IPESE group is involved in the FP7 Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) project named CI-NERGY. The aim of this European project is to train young scientists in model and software development for simulation, optimization and decision support in the field of urban energy systems, taking into account the inter-disciplinary dimension.
The CI-NERGY project brings together 6 research institutes and 4 industrial partners, each of which is hosting at least one researcher from the project. In total, 14 young scientists (11 PhD and 3 experienced researchers) are carrying out research in different subfields of urban energy systems such as building physics, network design and operation, 3D geographic information systems, multi-scale modelling, energy supply optimisation, user behaviour, energy conversion technologies, storage and demand-response management in buildings. Both heat and electricity demand is in the scope of this research project.
