>>Venture>> 2015
IVRLâs Adrien Birbaumer and Martijn Bosch were among the winners of the >>Venture>> Business Idea competition. The business idea of providing firefighters with thermal information on an augmented reality display, is based on ongoing research into this application within IVRL. The jury chose the idea out of 107 competing projects, and awarded it with a fifth place. To follow the progress of the project, please visit: www.firehud.com.

New project
IVRL started a new project aimed at enhancing the safety and work efficiency of firemen through a wearable see-through augmented reality display. The research undertaken in this project will address colour blending models for thermal imagery on see-through displays. The results will be tested with professional firemen in realistic tasks. Adrien Birbaumer and Martijn Bosch will work on this project, which is funded by a CTI Feasibility grant.
