IVRL members Ruofan Zhou and Fayez Lahoud won the PIRM2018 on ‘Example-Based Spectral Image Super-Resolution’ in both tracks. Fayez will be presenting their solution at the Perceptual Image Restoration and Manipulation Workshop in Munich, Germany.

IVRL member Leonardo Impett has won the 2019 Digital Humanities fellowship from Villa I Tatti, the Harvard Center for Italian Renaissance Studies. He will spend the first half of 2019 as a Fellow of the Center, working on depictions of gesture in late Medieval and early Renaissance Italy using computer vision, in the finishing stages of his PhD at EPFL’s Digital Humanities Institute.

Darix has won the “Prix du public”, worth 10,000 CHF, for their firefighters augmented reality device as part of the “Prix Entreprendre Région Lausanne” competition. Darix has conducted research in collaboration with IVRL.

Largo obtained Fit Seed, a financial support of CHF 100’000 from the Foundation for Technological Innovation (FIT) given to promising young start-ups. Largo will use this support during the beta phase of their product, sofy.tv, an innovative video-on-demand platform exclusively for short films. Some of the innovative technologies of sofy.tv are developed at IVRL.
