MIRA-35 is a Ka-band magnetron-based cloud radar with high sensitivity that allows observing even light clouds. The scanning MIRA with a 1.2 m antenna that is used during the CHOPIN-campaign provides radar moments and Doppler spectra at a vertical resolution of approximately 30 m at a time resolution of 5 seconds. When not doing its routine PPI’s and RHI’s, it profiles vertically. More information can be found on the Metek-website.
