The students of the Faculty of Architecture who went down in history as i radicali challenged the very foundations of the discipline, transforming it into a critical act, an artistic expression, and a performative gesture. The experiments conducted between 1968 and 1978, at the intersection of architecture, art, and performance, have been widely studied. However, the role of education in this process remains largely unexplored. On the one hand, the influence of faculty members who expanded the disciplinary horizon; on the other, the experiments of students and recent graduates of the generazione radicale aimed at subverting traditional educational models and rethinking the very concept of learning.

Through unpublished documents and contributions from art and architectural historians, this editorial project investigates the role of certain professors at the Faculty of Architecture in Florence in redefining architectural education through a dialogue with the avant-gardes. The goal is to offer a new perspective on architectural pedagogy, moving beyond technical assumptions to embrace art and life.
