The architectural office Bauart, of which Prof. Emmanuel Rey of the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) is a partner, has been invited to contribute to the "Hors-site (mais pas Hors-sol)" exhibition, which runs from September 28 to January 18, 2025 at the Maison de l'Architecture et de la Ville – Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur in Marseille. Their contribution focuses, in particular, on the wood modular architecture developed by the office to meet evolving needs in terms of spaces dedicated to teaching.

PhD Seminar “Neighborhoods in Transition II”

Education

Organized by the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) within the axis Integrated Design, Architecture and Sustainability (IDEAS) in partnership with the Architectural Association School of Architecture (AA, London), the PhD seminar “Neighborhoods in Transition II” will explore, from 26-28 April 2025, the potentials of urban slopes in the context of a post-carbon society.

Semester reviews of the RELIEFS URBAINS design studio

Education

This week took place the end-of-semester reviews at the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne. For Prof. Emmanuel Rey's studio, it was an opportunity to discuss the ongoing explorations of over thirty students who worked on designing a new neighborhood on the hillsides of Neuchâtel. The guest experts on this occasion were Sibylle Kössler, an architect from Lausanne, and Cyril Lecoultre, an architect from Nyon.
