At LBO, we specialize in developing innovative (bio)materials for musculoskeletal applications. For example, we’re developing hydrogels with strong adhesive properties to address issues like cartilage defects and tracheomalacia. Additionally, we’re dedicated to understanding the impact of biomechanical stimuli on tissue development, a field known as mechanobiology. We’re also actively involved in improving orthopedic implants using advanced numerical methods. Moreover, our laboratory uses machine learning techniques for tasks such as data analysis, predictive modeling, and optimization, which enhances our understanding of musculoskeletal pathologies and the development of innovative solutions. If you’re interested in contributing to our team’s work in advancing musculoskeletal research, please reach out to us for information on available student projects.
