The project proposes the new R package, rechaRge, dedicated to open-source groundwater recharge (GWR) models. The package will include functions for automatic calibration, sensitivity analysis, and uncertainty analysis, all integrated directly in the R environment. A first open-source GWR model, the HydroBudget (HB) model, will be included in the package. The goal of the project is to ease the simulation of GWR estimates for researchers, professionals, and stakeholders, for both hydrogeologists and non-hydrogeologists by both providing all the tools for state-of-art modelling and the available GWR models in only one package. Therefore, developers of open-source GWR modelling codes are warmly invited to publish their models in this package. This is a collaborative project, any suggestion, feedback, and help will be welcome! The project advancement can be followed here: https://github.com/gwrecharge
The results from the community survey are online: https://github.com/gwrecharge/rechaRge/blob/main/community_survey/survey_main_results.md
We are actively looking for code developers for the Water Table Fluctuation method, the chloride mass balance, and transforming data into a Modflow input file format. Please get in touch with the project team if you want to develop or already have these codes and would be interested to publish them in the rechaRge package!
