Within the framework of the securing of the Borgne at the village of Bramois, the historic bridge is the weak point in terms of hydraulic capacity. The concept of the project is based on widening the bed to its normal width along almost the entire length of the river. As the slope must be maintained, this widening requires a reduction in the amount of material carried downstream. This sediment management is achieved by creating a greatly widened zone just upstream of Bramois, which will encourage sediment deposits. On the other hand, the bridge section remains narrow, to allow erosion under the historic bridge during floods. The aim of the physical model is to verify that with the new geometry the hundred-year flood does not cause any overflow in the village and to optimise sediment management upstream of Bramois.
